Edgar’s Bakery in Downtown Trussville Celebrates Grand Opening
Melissa Stewart - October 1, 2018
The Trussville location is the eighth Alabama store opened by owners Terri and Dottie Smith. Located on Main Street, the bakery is in a perfect spot to serve as a segue into the new downtown redevelopment district. The Smiths took this opportunity to elevate Edgar’s signature recipes and beloved spirit by incorporating a new and improved customer experience. The Trussville store offers all new menu items, expanded merchandise, and refreshed interior and exterior design elements.
Smith shared her enthusiasm for this opportunity with the Trussville Tribune stating, “We are really excited about the opening of this location. Our team has been working hard to get the Trussville store opened. We really appreciate the community’s support.”
The design intent of the 5,000 sq. ft. building was to keep all elements neutral and light to accentuate Edgar’s sweet delicacies and seasonal merchandise. Customers will experience open dining, expanses of natural lighting, high ceilings, and multiple display spaces. The exterior façade of the building is inspired by the architecture of Bermuda with crisp black and white elements featuring a patio and courtyard for outdoor dining and events.
