Ardent Preschool & Daycare recently celebrated the opening of its new facility at Patchwork Farms in Vestavia Hills with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Located just off old Highway 280, the facility is strategically placed within the growing Patchwork Farms development neighboring Publix and Lifetime Fitness. The 22,000-square-foot preschool and daycare is the sixth location opened by the “2019 Best of Birmingham — Preschool and Daycare” award recipient in the Birmingham-metro area.
Patchwork Farms houses 18 classrooms for children ages six weeks through kindergarten allowing teachers ample room to educate, lead Bible lessons, and plan arts and crafts activities. Classrooms are equipped with interactive smart boards to encourage student involvement and allow teachers one-on-one training with their students.
Other elements include a commercial grade warming kitchen, improved daylighting, customized art display boards throughout the hallways, and color-coded wayfinding. The campus has secure entrances with high definition cameras and a state-of -the-art security system. Other features include a splash pad, four age appropriate outdoor play areas with sunshades, and multi-colored rubberized play surfaces.
This is the second time Ardent Preschool & Daycare has partnered with architectural firm TURNERBATSON and construction company Murray Building Company to deliver an educational environment of the highest quality.
“Working with TURNERBATSON on the innovative new model for Ardent Preschool (first at Greystone in Tattersall Park and now at Patchwork Farms) has been an experience beyond what I expected,” said Ardent Owner John LaBreche. “They have always been willing to take the time to fully hear, see, and understand what we were trying to envision. The most powerful part of the process was the ability of TURNERBATSON to take our envisioned concept, give it a creative spin, and turn it into an amazing reality.”
