A 36,800-square-foot expansion is planned for the National Computer Forensics Institute. This project includes an addition to the City of Hoover’s Public Safety Center, providing more accessible and continuous office space. The expansion will involve both interior renovations to the existing facility and the construction of a new connecting addition on the building’s east side.

Construction for the space allocated to NCFI will provide three 35-person classrooms, one 250-person instructional auditorium, 20 administrative office spaces, common spaces, and facilities to support the additional persons attending the NCFI. The design will also feature a separate and secure entrance to the NCFI training facility that completely separates and secures NCFI’s space from other entities housed on the campus.

The purpose of the project is to increase NCFI’s instructional capacity from 3,500 to over 8,000 students per year. The additional auditorium will facilitate a cohesive learning experience for all cohorts and allow educational opportunities not currently available in the existing space.
