Terry and Dottie Smith have opened seven Edgar’s Bakeries across the state of Alabama, the latest of which is in the heart of downtown Trussville. With their Trussville location, the Edgar’s team wanted to re-evaluate their customer experience by introducing a refreshed brand and an enhanced physical appearance.

The renowned bakery teamed up with TURNERBATSON to develop a timeless, Bermudian-inspired architectural design, which is accentuated by white painted brick and slender black windows. Its clean exterior elements further highlight the brand and establish a beautiful streetscape in the City of Trussville’s Downtown Redevelopment District.

The clean-lined interior showcases the vibrant detail of delicious menu items like their signature strawberry cake. The open dining area’s natural light and high ceilings provide a spacious environment for customers to enjoy bakery favorites. The immersive design also gives customers a behind-the-scenes look at the baking process through its open kitchen and bakery.

Following the success of the Trussville location, TURNERBATSON is now working on plans for a 3,700 square foot Edgar’s located in the Stadium Trace shopping center in Hoover, AL.
