Redeemer Bible Church

Redeemer Bible Church of Greenwood, Indiana, began when a small group of 20 like-minded believers started meeting in South Indianapolis in 2014. The congregation grew from 20 to more than 500 individuals coming together each Sunday in a local middle school, which no longer met the needs of the growing congregation.

The church acquired 15 acres of property next to the middle school to construct a new 900-seat worship facility. TURNERBATSON worked with T&W Church Solutions, the contractor, very closely to provide the most useable, practical, economical, and aesthetically clean architecture representative of the young, mobile, active lifestyles of Redeemer’s church families.

The building exterior features a simple precast concrete and steel structure. Inside, the 900-seat auditorium was designed to be expandable to fit 1,200 without an addition. The church preferred to use a mixture of theater- and stadium-style seating arranged so that the congregation could achieve optimal viewing of the 24 ft. on-stage video projection screen from every location.

Other features include a spacious entry lobby and foyer to allow for easy flow and wayfinding for first time visitors, a large Porte Cochere canopy for passenger drop off, and a Children’s Center. The Children’s Center provides Sunday School and Children’s Church for birth through elementary grades for up to 400 and is positioned to expand easily in the future as these young church families grow.
