This large, well-established church in eastern Montgomery had launched a very successful contemporary worship service for its congregation. The attendance grew so quickly that the church soon had no suitable space in which to hold the service. Along with the growth of the contemporary service came an increase in the number of children attending Sunday School.

The facilities solution was an addition that included 40,000 square feet of finished space and 14,000 square feet of shelled-in space. The finished space includes a 1,000-seat contemporary worship center, children’s classrooms, gathering and hospitality space, and a chapel.

The centerpiece of the project is the contemporary worship center. The design utilizes stone, wood, and natural light to create a very comfortable, natural setting. The space can be darkened with remote controlled shades that cover the walls of glass.
