The Sheffield Group is a family-owned company and one of the premier Workers’ Compensation providers in Alabama. Fulfilling its pledge to serve its growing multi-generational company, TURNERBATSON was hired to design a new 40,000 square foot headquarters building that brings all of its employees together under one roof and provides them with a first-class work environment.

Located in the Meadowbrook Office Park, the new headquarters building is designed to take advantage of views of the surrounding lake and park through large expanses of glass, covered patios and balconies, and large outdoor plazas. Exterior materials tie the building to the surrounding fountains and bridges, while staircases connect the patios and plazas to walking trails.

Interior workspaces are designed to provide a healthy work environment with an abundance of natural light, high ceilings, and wide communicating stairs. Amenities are provided with the goal of creating collaborative spaces that bring together employees from separate departments. This includes a multi-functional dining space with a commercial kitchen as well as a boutique fitness center.
