School has started! Whether virtual, part-time, or masked and distanced — students are back to the classroom and striding toward normalcy. This pandemic has allowed us to look at everything through new lenses — designs for built environments and virtual environments will be evolving as a result of lessons learned during this time.

The kids at JEFCOED’s Adamsville Elementary will have a surprise when they return from virtual learning. The administration will unveil their renovated media center — and hopefully bring some joy into their lives.

Jefferson County has been intentional in providing relevant, energized spaces for the new learning alternatives in many of their facilities. This project, inspired by theme of “think, show, and tell,” propels their imagination and challenges their creativity.

It challenged our creativity when we designed it. I hope it captivates the students and teachers at Adamsville. We all need a bit of “light” in our lives these days!
