Beth MacLeod manages TURNERBATSON’s finances, accounting, and employee benefits from her Gulf of Mexico ocean-view home. Her laid-back and kind demeanor, strong attention to detail, and almost 20 years at TURNERBATSON make her an irreplaceable fit for this role. As a full-time Florida resident, it is a treat when Beth makes her monthly trip to our office. She enjoys traveling, reading on the beach, spending time with her family, and accomplishing her weekly 5-K challenges.
1. What are the top 3 most used apps on your phone?
Holy Bible, Church of the Highlands, and Southwest Airlines. I open Southwest Airlines all throughout the day looking for flight deals to get my daughter (who lives in LA) home for a visit.
2. What is a skill (not necessarily industry related) you’d like to learn and why?
I really want to start taking yoga classes and be able to master some of the mind-blowing poses. It’s a new form of exercise that would push me to get out of my comfort zone.
3. Why did you choose this profession?
I took an interesting path to where I am today. I started at The University of Alabama in Engineering, transferred to Auburn for Architecture, and then transferred back to UA for Interior Design. In the end, I landed at the School of Business where I took my first accounting class. The rest is history mixed with a little coincidence!
4. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I would go back to Italy. My family and I took a vacation there several years ago, and it was the most wonderful trip. There is so much to see including incredible history and the beauty of the coast.
5. What do you love most about TURNERBATSON?
The incredible leadership and passion of Principals Dave and Eric. They truly care about everyone at TURNERBATSON and have set a great example for our team. Everyone here genuinely cares for each other!
6. What does family mean to you?
Absolutely everything. After God, they are my major support system. It means the world to me when my daughter calls me “her best friend!”
7. Tell us something cool about yourself.
I am a resident of 30A and have worked remotely for TURNERBATSON for the past 16 years. I enjoy running in my free time. I try to run the distance of a 5-K at least three to four days a week!
8. What magazines and books have you read recently?
I usually start my day reading my daily devotionals on my Bible apps. Other than that, it’s Southern Living, Costal Living, or an easy read on the beach.
9. What is your favorite building (any building ever)?
Westminster Abbey – my family spent Christmas Eve there years ago, and it was such a spiritual experience. I also love the Notre-Dame Cathedral and St. Peter’s Basilica.
10. Tell us one piece of advice that you have learned over the years that can’t be forgotten.
Try not to spend too much time worrying or stressing when you are going through a difficult situation. Try and always put your faith in God. He is always in control.
