On Friday, Nov. 7, we dedicated a beautiful new outdoor space on the Highlands College campus known as The Larson Knoll. It honors the life and legacy of Gary Larson, whose impact continues to shape this college and everyone who knew him. Gary passed away in 2024 and left an amazing legacy at Highlands College, Church of the Highlands, and TURNERBATSON.
“Special thanks to Highlands College, Church of the Highlands, and so many others who shared their time and love to design and create this space,” said TURNERBATSON President Dave Reese. “This area will forever remind us of Gary’s gentle strength, his generous spirit, and the light he brought to everyone around him.”
Pastor Mark Pettus, College Chancellor Chris Hodges, Dave Reese, and Gary’s son John Larson spoke at the dedication service.
“Gary was a friend, mentor, man of prayer, and an encouraging member of the design team of the Highlands College campus. His impact was strong on the HC campus, but even more so on the people whose lives he touched,” said Reese.
Our hope is that The Larson Knoll will always remind us that great lives are built on prayer, purpose, and faith that stands the test of time.
